Minino Garay was born in 1965 in Córdoba where he graduated from the National Academy of Music. He then moved to Paris where he started his own band « Les tambours du Sud » featuring some ten percussionists. Minino Garaÿ is awarded with the 2004 "Django d'Or" in the World Music category.
He has collaborated with many musicians all over the world, so just to name a few: Dee Dee Bridgewater (a regular accompanist), Mercedes Sosa, Jacky Terrason, Michel Portal, Stefano di Battista, Julien Lourau, Andre Ceccarelli, Sixun, Raul Barboza, Daniel Mille, Laurent de Wilde, Pierre Blanchard, Mosalini-Beytelmann-Caratini Trio, Tierra del fuego, Antonello Salis, Richard Bona, Leon Parker, Tony Malaby, Emanuelle Cisi, Flavio Voltro, Guillermo Klein, Cedron.
He has performed in many music festivals: Montreux Jazz festival, Nice Jazz festival, Montreal Jazz festival, North Sea Jazz, Saint Louis Jazz festival, JVC Jazz, La Villette and Heritage Jazz New Orleans.
